Transitions

September 15, 2014

Like many of us, for the last few weeks you've been feeling that change is in the air. The sweet, carefree, warm and expansive nature of summer is being replaced by the cool, majestic, calming nature of fall. Just as summer supported expression and brilliance, fall will catalyze our releasing and letting go. It will welcome us into change by surrounding and soothing us with a warm mosaic of shapes and colors. Fall reminds us that release is as satisfying as expansion. Exhaling compliments inhaling.

The change in seasons is essential to our process of creation, a continuous cycle of expression and renewal. The steady progression to fullness is followed by movement towards stillness so that we can replenish and begin again. As we transition into fall, let's follow the lead of the season. Take advantage of this time dedicated to releasing. Take this opportunity to review your lists of burdens and lighten your load. What do you want to let go? Stress? Pain? Hurt? Mistakes? Sadness? Weight? Poor eating habits? Self-neglect? Guilt? Regret?

Mother Nature is providing us with a dose of universal energy to help us move toward a new sense of freedom and well-being. The Universe is on our side so take a moment to connect. Get quiet. Take some slow, easy, deep breaths. Envision a tree with colorful leaves. Feel a gentle, calming fall breeze. Imagine leaves falling softly to the earth. Now, imagine each one represents one item on your burden list. Perhaps each leaf is a pound of excess weight. Or perhaps the leaves represent various things. A regret. An unhealthy habit. A mistake. Sadness. Stress. Tension. Some leaves will be carried away by the gentle breeze. Others will simply fall to the earth to be absorbed and transformed into energy that will nurture growing trees, plants, herbs, fruits and vegetables. Releasing your burdens fuels transformation. You find new energy and clarity to build the skills, habits, and connections that feed your growth and wellness.

There is no better time than now. Fall has opened the door and invited you to step into a new you. Release. Let go. Exhale. Open. Create new space.
